Dimensionally accurate import of old floor plans

ScanWizzard, the tool for reading in old floor plans that are available as image files.With this tool, you can subsequently scale floor plans based on the dimensions and import them as a basis for your further planning. Of course, this also works with site plans or other templates for their project. Optionally, the image can be rotated immediately and image snap points can be activated.

Import and export images

In our master version it is possible to import image files, these can be stored in the planning or simply inserted on the plan. Also the plan itself, or the visualization in 3D can be exported as an image in common image file formats.

Import of 3D objects

In our professional version there is a possibility to import 3D objects. The data formats can be 3DS, ACO or O2C.

Sketchup – Import

The direct import of Sketchup objects as .skp files opens up far-reaching possibilities for our users. The 3D models from the modeling program and also the countless freely available objects on the net, are simply read in and used in your own planning and can be permanently saved in the catalog.

Export 3D printer

Your complete house model can be transferred from the 3D House Planner Master to a 3D printer. This variant is becoming more and more popular, so we are happy to comply with this customer request. The output is a .stl file and can be checked in advance in a 3D player.

Export as X3D or VRML

An export of the design in the above mentioned 3D formats is possible, so the project can be read and further processed in other programs that use these interfaces.

3D components

Automatic floors and ceilings

Once the first walls enclose a room, the associated floor and ceiling are created. The thicknesses for these components are to be defined in the storey settings. When the height changes, these components are automatically adjusted.

Automatic rooms

If the walls enclose a room, then the room is immediately recognized and the m2 for the room area is available as info. As soon as a wall is moved, the rooms and also the m2 are updated.

Variable windows and doors

Our components windows and doors have to offer a very large catalog of components. Each component can be changed and also permanently saved again. Thus, the user can create his own components very well.

Automatic stairs

When it comes to stairs, there’s almost nothing that can’t be done. All stair shapes can be designed and the beauty of it is that the stairs are automatically calculated so that the tread widths and the riser heights always get sensible values. Of course, the values can then still be changed and adjusted.

Spiral staircase

Finally, the spiral staircase is also available as a parameterized component. You can set this spiral staircase, like any other staircase shape in the 3D house planner in the floor plan exactly and automatically the 3D staircase is generated. All stair settings can be edited afterwards. Standard spiral staircases can be permanently saved in the catalog with corresponding presettings.

Automatic roofs

A 3D roof at the push of a button? This is not a problem in our 3D house planner. The roof intersections are fully automatic and the roof can be changed at any time. Whether hipped roof, gable roof or complicated roof shapes, everything is possible. And, of course, the walls intersect under the roof.

Extended dormers

The component dormers is completely revised. You can add any dormers to your roof with just a few clicks. These dormers, like the main roof itself, are to be processed subsequently. Change or move their dormers quickly and accurately. Especially in the initial design phase, quick changes are desired and very useful.

2D elements in construction mode

If a 3D floor plan is to be supplemented as a drawing, for example, 2D drawing elements such as lines, polygons and circles are required for this. These 2D elements are available in the design and in the views and sections.

NEW New 2D Polygon

For all users who not only want to create a 3D model, but also value extensive 2D editing options, a new 2D tool consisting of lines to arcs is available. Besides the complex input option, lines can be subsequently converted to circles or vice versa. It is also possible to enter any recesses and to split the polygon into individual segments.

Lines – ends

Our lines can be provided with different objects at the ends, which makes them very flexible to use, for example, if you need reference arrows or other graphic elements. These objects at the end are now flexible in size and the line can also be saved permanently with the objects.

Free railings

In the master version, the component railing is available. This allows any railing variants to be created in the design. These are then also visible in 3D as objects.

Plates

The Plates component is a general component that can be used to model anything in 3D that does not correspond to the usual templates in the other components. As an example, you could build furniture with the plates themselves or use them in the outdoor area as terraces or the like.

Downspout

Creating a rainwater downpipe as a 3D object and setting it down is rounded off by the automatic connection to the gutter on the roof. Different templates can be saved in the catalog. The parameters of these templates can be changed at will. The downpipe is displayed with the cross-section on the curser in the planning and can be easily placed. Of course, the heights and levels are freely selectable as the option straight tube or with distortion. For the correct display, the fastening clamps can be defined and labeling in the floor plan display is automatically possible.

Wooden construction

A 3D wooden construction is available for the walls and also for the roof. The settings and parameters can be edited and a reasonable timber construction is calculated automatically. As usual, of course, in 2D and visible in 3D.

Planning aids

Easy Edit

With the ‘Easy Edit’ tool, they can click on their room dimensions and change them by simply entering the new dimensions. All without having to move a wall with commands – simply and at the touch of a button! Determine how the space should change: Center, to the left and to the right. All changes are immediately applied and visible in the 3D model – the revolution in 3D house planning!

Online dimensions

Our online dimensions are unique – simply click on a component such as a window or door in the design or in 3D and all the important dimensions appear. Just move the mouse over it and when the pencil is displayed click on it and change it.

Planning aids, such as coordinate trackers, auxiliary lines, grids, etc.

To ensure that the planning of the walls in the floor plan succeeds well, there are very good aids for this in the 3D house planner. With the coordinate tracker, you can determine the direction of the wall with the mouse and simply enter the length using the keyboard. Guides can of course also be set with spacing.

Editing functions

A wall or a window is to be moved subsequently? Walls are shortened or lengthened? Or components and objects are to be copied. All doable with our extensive editing features.

Various representations in the floor plan

Dimensions

Of course, dimension elements are available in the construction view. These can be completely customized from the look (text height and dimension lines) and saved.

Advanced dimensioning functions

In addition to the extensions of the dimensioning types (e.g. distance dimensioning), it is possible to edit the dimensioning and also save it as your own standard.

Extension in the dimensions/height quotients

The dimensions are extended by multiple dimensions. In addition, you can display contour lines and set elevation notes in sections and views.

Texts

Of course, texts are available as single texts and text blocks in the planning.

Area composition

For all those who would like to have their surfaces at a glance. The 3D House Planner Master version has an area compilation for floor areas available in construction mode. The land use type is for setting and any change is automatically updated in the area composition as well.

Catalogs and textures

Extensive texture catalog

Change surfaces inside and outside? Simply drag and drop the desired surface from the texture catalog into the planning. The software automatically detects entire rooms or the exterior geometry of the house.

Extensive object catalog

It should be furnished the apartment or house? Or maybe the garden or the surrounding area needs to be landscaped? Use our extensive object catalog from kitchens, living rooms or bathrooms to watering cans for the garden – very many objects are available.

2D symbols

Numerous 2D symbols are available in the construction mode and in the 2D views. Be it for setting up a floor plan, creating plan header legends or simply as a repository where you can also store your own symbols as groups. 2D symbols make a good floor plan and elevation perfect.

3D mode / visualization

Visualization

View the house inside or outside in 3D is wonderful in our 3D representation. For a great visualization our fast shadow calculation in 3D mode helps.

Real-time shadow

Once the shadows are calculated, you can continue to edit the project without any problems and the shadows will remain on the model. This eliminates tedious calculation times and the model always retains the shadow calculation even when switching to construction mode.

Light sources

Besides the lighting settings for sunlight, additional light sources can be used. So light source outdoors and of course for the interior, each object can be assigned a light source.

Background brush

If a background is inserted as an image, the background brush can be used to transfer surfaces into the planning.

3D Bitmaps

Everyone wants a visualization that makes a lifelike impression. For this we have a very ingenious addition – our 3D bitmaps. Photographs of plants, trees, people and the like that behave and visually come across like a 3D object.

3D cut

Represent the house like a dollhouse? Complete with furnishings, wallpaper, etc. This works wonderfully with our 3D cut function. Cut through your 3D model at will and enjoy different views of the new home.

Create your own videos

You want to walk through your house? Or even fly around the planning? The whole thing is possible with our great video function. Watch it yourself or save the videos to a video format and share the vision with others.

Terrain modeling

3D terrain

A comprehensive terrain tool is available in the 3D House Planner Master. On the one hand, plots can be created and various areas can be defined on the plot, which can get other surfaces.

Terrain shapes

Furthermore, there are various terrain shapes such as ramps, hills, etc. and it is possible to model the terrain by entering high points or elevations. An interesting aspect is the comparison of the original site and the projected site as a 3D model.

NEW Terrain mode (colored display of the elevation points of the terrain)

We manage two different terrains in the Terrain mode, the Original Terrain and the Projected Terrain. The elevation points of the terrain can be displayed and modified in 3D. To see at a glance which elevation points belong to which terrain, the elevation points of the inactive terrain are automatically displayed in gray. Much easier editing of terrain heights is thus possible.

Beds and paths

The terrain mode has been extended with interesting features. With the beds and paths, they now have even more options for meaningful garden and landscape design. With the function ‘Bed’ you can automatically fill any area with objects (e.g. plant objects) in different sequences (random, row, etc.) This area with the plants automatically adapts to the terrain and the terrain heights. The path is a range with the input of any width. Using the line-polygon or spline function, the path can be created using any clicks and provided with its own texture.

Fences

The fences can also be found under the terrain mode. The function ‘Fence’ is an automatic stringing together of 3D objects on a polygon to be set arbitrarily:
The height of the objects automatically adjusts to the slope of the terrain. The size of the objects can be set and varied as desired and the input of the intermediate distances is possible individually. Thus, the ‘Fence’ function can be used in many ways in the project.

Sections and views

Create cut

In our professional version, any number of section lines can be laid and sections calculated from them. These sections are stored in the 2D Views mode and can, of course, still be post-processed there. As a 3D section, they always retain the link to the model and can be updated at any time.

Automatic views

In 2D Views mode, all views from the building can be calculated at the push of a button. Different display modes (only lines or also colored) are possible. After setting, the shadows are taken over from the 3D model. Further editing of these views is possible.

Automatic shadow calculation for views

The colored views use the automatic shadow calculation from the 3D mode. If a view is updated (e.g. because there have been project changes) then it can happen that the shadow calculation does not fit because it is set differently in 3D mode, for example. Therefore, there is this new feature that the shadow calculation is saved with the view and thus is perfectly displayed at every update. Especially when there are many changes, this is a great relief of work. This is completed with the new function: to update all views and sections at the push of a button.

3D views

Every 3D viewing angle can be mapped as a 3D view. These views can also be displayed differently and, of course, post-processed and printed.

Views management

Everything in perfect order? With our views management already! If you want to show the house from all possible angles, there are also many different views and sections. These can be clearly displayed and also sorted in our administration.

Printout of the planning possible at any time

Floor plans and 3D views can be easily printed at any time. Of course, the floor plan remains true to scale. The paper format can also be selected as desired.
